3-Ingredient Dog Ice Cream Recipe: Your Dog Will Bark for More by Ann Marie Patitucci

During the summer when everyone is looking for ways to cool down, we need to remember our pets, too! I have an easy, pet-friendly recipe for homemade dog “ice cream,” which I’m sure your furry loved one will love!
Full disclosure: there’s no ice cream in this recipe. While some dogs can handle a small amount of vanilla ice cream, it’s best to avoid it as many dogs are lactose intolerant. In addition, ice cream ingredients can be dangerous for our furry friends.
With just two steps and three ingredients, this dog ice cream recipe is as easy as it gets. And your dog will surely bark for more.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 32 ounces plain yogurt
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
Here's how to make it:
- Blend ingredients in a food processor until creamy (if mixing by hand, mix until ingredients are smooth).
- Pour the mixture into silicone ice cube trays and freeze for 2 hours.
Note: Make sure it does not contain xylitol (most peanut butter brands do not, but it’s important to be sure because it can be harmful to dogs).
