Baseball Poems: A Fun Poem About the Great American Pastime (Take Me Out to the Ballgame!) by Marge Jesberger

Play Ball!
I’ve popped the popcorn, pulled up my chair
The baseball game is about to air.
Eager with anticipation,
I’ll toast my team with a cold libation.
Everyone is ready to start the game
Broadcasters are announcing each player by name.
Infielders and outfielders are taking their places
They even smeared eye black on their faces.
One loyal fan is going to his seat
Hoping his team will not be beat.
The umpire is dusting off home plate
While the pitcher just has to watch and wait.
The lead batter is up to hit the ball
Expecting to smack it over the wall.
Finally, they are ready to play
Oh wait, is that a rain delay?
