#30Seconds Chat: Supporting Each Other Through Coronavirus Quarantine & Social Distancing by Donna John

We know we’re safe at home and doing our part to help stop the spread of coronavirus, but social distancing and quarantine can be stressful. Some of us are not working or lost our jobs, thrown into the world of working from home, homeschooling kids, cooking more than we ever have, spending more time with our spouses, upset by the stats and COVID-19 news … All of this can be overwhelming, but we are all in this together and need to support each other.
It's heartbreaking to see so many struggle, while heartwarming to see acts of human kindness. That's what brings me hope. #30Seconds

Q. Are you homeschooling? How's it going? Any tips to share??
Can they do facetime w/ their friends or classmates to work through problems together? #30Seconds

Our community is doing a really neat idea seniors and it has given me ideas to do w some younger kids. Plus it helps my kids feel good about something they are doing. “Adopt a senior” and send them notes etc. Been really uplifting for all #30seconds

Trying to lol! With 4 kids! 🤪Biggest tip that’s worked for my crew is waking up same time every morning. Breakfast, school workout, recess, lunch etc. #30Seconds https://t.co/6FXAWG2Yz8

I’ve read this is a real thing. Sleep is healthy we need to quiet our minds I think I’m restless from being home I made myself get up today at 6:30 so hopefully I can turn this around. #30seconds
— Holly @Tweenspot (@tweenspot) April 23, 2020
I feel I've been more productive around the house and feel more tired at the end of the day so I "think" I've been sleeping better. #30Seconds
— Toni B (@rychepet) April 23, 2020
Q. How are you handling your stress and anxiety? How about your kids' anxiety?
The #30Seconds tips I would recommend:
-Don’t be afraid to ask! Most people are willing.
-Take a mental break! I meditate daily and give myself 5-15 min dance breaks.
-Be patient. We’re human and we’re all on a learning curve.— Alex Bryant (@Official_AlexB_) April 23, 2020
I have found that laughing each day does help lift the spirits!! #30seconds pic.twitter.com/wbygGzTKp7

I’ve had a few people close passed away. I shifted my focus from sorrow to their vision and the lessons they instilled with the intention to leave an impact like they did. #30Seconds

Some days it’s so difficult. Others I’m Ms. optimist. Ugh. Cannot wait to get back to a regular routine. #30seconds

#30Seconds We had a very nice sunny day today and I took a 2 hour walk. Just to clear my head a little. And enjoy the warm sunlight.

Q. How do you think the pandemic is being handled? Do you think it's time to make some changes or are you staying at home for the long haul?
Without getting too political, I think things could have been done a lot sooner. #30Seconds
— Toni B (@rychepet) April 23, 2020
We are in it for the long haul. My husband is working, but I'm staying home. Only going to grocery for pick up mostly. #30Seconds

Its good to be aware.. but people need to still treat each other with respect & dignity. I hope they do not raise the orders too soon, and hopefully we can get back to a half ways "normal" by summer. #30seconds
— sherry bracy (@sherrybracy) April 23, 2020
I feel VERY strongly that everyone’s life matters and if we don’t/can’t test then we can’t sacrifice lives just yet. You can protest from your driveway! Doctors and nurses should be your source of education about opening up. #30seconds
— Mindy Sharp (@MsMin) April 23, 2020
I'm with you. Trying to open the economy too soon is a very bad idea. Wait until the numbers drop! #30Seconds
— Toni B (@rychepet) April 23, 2020
I think people are afraid.—Afraid of illness. Afraid of jobs and afraid of their rights. Their livelihoods. most is counterproductive but I understand at the same time. Wildest times I’ve ever seen. Always thought we were passed all this ! #30seconds #historyRepeatsItself
— Holly @Tweenspot (@tweenspot) April 23, 2020
The Gov talked about maybe raising some orders starting next week?? I think its wayyy too soon! #30seconds then after she got done talking.. a U of M study showed if raised too soon it could go higher than it already has if too much is lifted too soon
— sherry bracy (@sherrybracy) April 23, 2020
Q. Are you going out at all? Are you wearing masks? Using hand sanitizer?
I am now wearing a mask when I go out, but try to limit it to once a week for groceries because we need produce. #30Seconds
— Toni B (@rychepet) April 23, 2020
Same in NYC & my small town in Westchester County too. If it gets people to follow the mandates it’s a good thing. #30seconds
— 🌸Summer Luver🌼 (@Summrluver) April 23, 2020
I’m washing hands so much They feel like “man hands “ sometimes and got hand sanitizer in the car. 🤣 #30seconds
— Holly @Tweenspot (@tweenspot) April 23, 2020
#30Seconds My awesome sister-in-law made masks for the whole family. That was just so nice of her. Because I can not sew at all.
— lorri langmaid (@lorri1956) April 23, 2020
Awesome! the elastic on mine just broke so I've been using a painter's mask #30Seconds
— Toni B (@rychepet) April 23, 2020

— lorri langmaid (@lorri1956) April 23, 2020
OMG! My face gets so hot after 10 minutes at the grocery store #30Seconds
