Is Your Child Having Trouble Sleeping? Let Me Introduce You to the Bedtime Fairy!

Are you desperate for a full night’s sleep, Mom? Let me tell you about the "Bedtime Fairy." She arrived one magical night and shared how important it is for kids to sleep in their beds. Sleeping is GOOD for our brains! Without NREM sleep, bodies cannot properly produce needed growth hormones. I promptly shared this with my wake-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-I-need-mommy-NOW child. Here's what I said:

"The Bedtime Fairy is very proud of children who stay in bed all night! She rewards them with star stickers! If you remain in bed all night, you may get something under your pillow!"

Be fair to your kid. If they are waking up, simply lead them back to their bed quietly with a quick tuck-in. It takes a bit of doing but, over time, they can collect stars and be proud of themselves – and you can sleep more soundly.
