Spanish Tinto de Verano Wine Cocktail Recipe: No Need to Travel to Spain by Jan Mostrom
Sangria is typically thought of as the drink from Spain, but some Spaniards think Tinto de Verano is the authentic Spanish spring and summer wine. When my daughter lived in Madrid, she loved this refreshing wine cocktail drink during the warmer months, so I decided to make our own and it is surprisingly easy!
All you need to make homemade Tinto de Verano is red wine, a soft drink, optional sparkling water and fruit. In minutes this Spanish wine beverage is ready to sip on!
This refreshing red wine drink is a fun sip during happy hour or served with dinner. Mom would definitely love being handed one of these wine cocktails on Mother's Day this Sunday!

Recipe Notes
- You do not need to use expensive wine for this delicious drink. A good red table wine works perfectly.
- Real Tinto de Verano does not need the fruit garnish. I just love adding the colors of the fruit to mine!

- Place ice in a pitcher and add equal parts red wine and soda. Taste to see if you want it a bit less sweet, and if so, add a few ounces of sparkling water.
