This quick and easy French bread crouton recipe is crispy and loaded with flavor. To make these homemade croutons, you only need four ingredients (five if you use crushed red pepper flakes). Here is your short list to gather to make these homemade croutons today: a French baguette, olive oil, garlic salt, dried Italian seasoning and optional crushed red pepper flakes for a little kick.

  • Store the croutons in an airtight container.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Cut the bread into cubes. Put them into a mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle with the garlic salt, dried Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes, if using. Drizzle with the olive oil. Toss to coat. 
  3. Put the croutons in a single layer on a baking sheet. 
  4. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 15 to 18 minutes, flipping over halfway through, or until golden. Remove and allow to cool before using.
