Orange Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe Adds Maximum Flavor In 5 Minutes (6 Ingredients) by Elisa Schmitz

Orange Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe Adds Maximum Flavor In 5 Minutes (6 Ingredients)

At 30Seconds, our community knows how much we love lemons. But, we also love oranges. The orange provides a sweeter citrus flavor than the lemon, which is a nice change every now and then.

This easy orange vinaigrette salad dressing recipe puts that sweet citrus flavor front and center. And, when you combine the sweet orange flavor with tangy Dijon mustard and white wine vinegar, you get maximum flavor in only five minutes!

Here are the six simple ingredients needed to make this gluten-free vinaigrette salad dressing: extra virgin olive oil, white wine vinegar, fresh-squeezed orange juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic and honey. You whisk the ingredients in a bowl or shake them in a cruet and presto! Instant flavor for salads, chicken, seafood, potatoes, vegetables or grains. Bonus: this recipe is part of a healthy Mediterranean diet.

Serve this low-sodium vinaigrette over your favorite greens or veggies, or enjoy it as a marinade for your favorite proteins and side dishes.

Recipe Notes

  • I prefer to squeeze my own orange juice for this recipe, but in a pinch, you can use bottled orange juice.
  • If using as a salad dressing, serve over salad immediately. If you wait a while before serving, you may need to whisk it (or shake it) again.
  • If using as a marinade, pour over protein of choice and marinate for at least an hour.
  • Store leftover salad dressing in a cruet or airtight container in the refrigerator.

Here's how to make it:

  1. In a small mixing bowl or measuring cup, add olive oil, vinegar, orange juice, mustard, honey and garlic. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Whisk until blended. Alternatively, you also can add all the ingredients to a cruet or mason jar and shake until emulsified.
  2. Serve immediately over salad or use as a marinade.
