Budget Ramen Beef & Broccoli Recipe Is Full of Bold Flavors In 30 Minutes

Looking for recipes that are easy on the wallet after the holidays? Me, too. Beef and broccoli is a classic Asian recipe, and who doesn't love ramen noodles? This easy ramen broccoli beef recipe combines the two – and it's budget friendly! Tender flank steak, crisp broccoli and ramen noodles are cooked in a rich, sweet, bold Asian sauce. The easy recipe is on the table in about 30 minutes.

For this 30-minute beef broccoli skillet dinner you'll need cooking oil, garlic, red wine vinegar, honey, soy sauce, flank steak, broccoli, onion, ramen noodles, beef broth, brown sugar, fresh ginger, oyster sauce and sesame oil.

Serve this ramen beef and broccoli recipe alone as a complete meal, or add a crispy egg roll or side salad with homemade Japanese hibachi dressing. Yum!

Recipe Notes

  • If you like things spicier, add some crushed red pepper flakes into the marinade and the sauce.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, whisk in a little cornstarch into the sauce.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients in a plastic food storage zipper bag. Season with black pepper. Add the beef and squeeze to mix and coat the meat. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour and up to 8 hours.
  2. Boil the ramen noodles for two minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water and set aside.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meat in batches and brown on both sides. Remove to a plate.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and onion. Cook, stirring, about 2 to 3 minutes or until they begin to soften a bit. Remove to a plate.
  5. Add all the sauce ingredients to the skillet. Bring to a boil and cook until it reduces by about 1/3.
  6. Put the onions and broccoli back into the sauce. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes or until broccoli softens a bit.
  7. Add the beef and ramen noodles. Toss to coat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sliced hot peppers, if desired.
