This moist banana bread recipe is full of healthy walnuts and is delicious for breakfast or as part of an elegant brunch. To make this old-fashioned banana bread recipe you will need butter, sugar, overripe bananas, eggs, vanilla extract, flour, baking soda, a pinch of salt and chopped walnuts. 

You could add a sprinkle of cinnamon or some chocolate chips into the batter for even more flavor. Make two loaves and give one to your neighbors, friends or family!

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer
  2. Add the mashed bananas, eggs and vanilla. Blend well. 
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add it to the wet ingredients. 
  4. Fold in the walnuts. 
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
