Is Grandma in Charge? 4 Tips When Grandparents Babysit!

Does Grandma or Grandpa babysit for you? Here are four tips for those who put grandparents in charge!

  • Pick Battles: Figure out the things most important to you and ask them to respect your requests. Don’t choose every battle.
  • Let It Go: If Grandma follows some rules, but not others, it’s best to let it go, unless it’s endangering the child.
  • Be Transparent: Give lots of direction and help. Write down schedules and keep them in the loop.
  • Problems Will Arise: Expect issues to come up as they would with any caregiver. Keep communication open.

Good luck!
