Patriotic Windsock Craft: A Step-by-Step Guide to Make Fun DIY Windsock by Donna John

With just a few materials kids can create this festive red, white and blue windsock for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day or any day you want to show your patriotism and spirit. Make a bunch and hang them in the house, outside from the trees, on the front porch – anywhere you need a little patriotic flair.
You'll need:
- empty toilet paper or paper towel tube
- blue paint
- paint brush
- red and white felt, streamers or fabric scraps
- scissors
- glue stick
- white paper
- star paper punch
- jute or yarn
- hole punch (optional)
Here's how to make it:
Paint the toilet paper tube or paper towel tube (cut to make it smaller) with the blue craft paint. Allow to dry.
Using the star paper punch, punch stars out of the white paper. Alternately, you could cut them out using scissors. Use glue to attach them over the blue paint.
Cut the felt, fabric or streamers into strips.
Add a little glue to the end of the strips.
Attach the strips to the inside of the tube. Allow to dry.
Cut a long piece of the jute or yarn. Put some glue on both sides of the inside at the top of the tube. Attach the jute or yarn for the hanger. You could also use a hole punch and tie the jute or yarn to the tube.
Hang the windsock inside or outside!
